Clearwire, founded in October 2003 by telecom pioneer Craig O. McCaw, is a provider of simple, fast, portable and reliable wireless high-speed Internet service. Clearwire customers connect to the Internet using licensed spectrum, thus eliminating the confines of traditional cable or phone lines.

Headquartered in Kirkland, Wash., the company launched its first market in August 2004 and now offers service in 16 states across the U.S. as well as in Europe.

On May 7, 2008, Clearwire Corporation and Sprint Nextel Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to combine their next-generation wireless broadband businesses to form a new wireless communications company to expedite the deployment of the first nationwide mobile WiMAX network.

In conjunction with this agreement Intel Corporation (through Intel Capital); Google Inc.; Comcast Corporation; Time Warner Cable Inc; and Bright House Networks have collectively agreed to invest $3.2 billion into the new company.

Software Development Engineer in Test (Data Warehouse)

Clearwire is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to be responsible for testing Clearwire's data warehouse and data mart solutions, including ETL processes, reporting, and analysis capabilities. This person will work closely with our development and operational IT personnel and other functional teams to ensure that software is tested thoroughly and effectively to deliver high-quality products and tools to our end users. We will also be looking for opportunities to automate our testing and develop various test tools to help us get our work done more effectively and efficiently. To meet our challenging development schedules and operational requirements, this position requires a highly motivated individual comfortable with rapid changes in direction and environment who loves to find create solutions to technical and logistical problems.

Responsibilities:

Build test cases and test plans to test new functional code
Run black and white box test cases and execute ad hoc testing for ETL, analysis, and reporting capabilities
Contribute to the overall quality of the project release by reviewing requirements documents, technical designs, and other upstream documentation
Follow developed test plans through major software releases
Document identified bugs and set proper priority
Track open bugs and work with development team to ensure that identified issues are resolved in a quality and timely manner
Identify and execute on opportunities to create automation and tools to increase our efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop test and release processes as well as develop test documentation
Work effectively with internal business and technical stakeholders to ensure that our technical solutions meet their needs
